ANYTHING ELSE? This is the themeless crossword puzzle for the May 2020 edition of The Comet.
Happy new year! It’s been a while since I’ve posted any new puzzles here. I have a severe backlog of several from The Comet (print edition) that I haven’t transmogrified into digital formats for you to solve yet–but it’s coming soon!
To that point, I’ve created a second crossword blog called Cory’s Crosswords & Creations Too. I eventually plan to move everything from this blog to that one.
Why the new blog and new address? Simple: the new blog’s platform will allow you, dear solver, to solve my puzzles right in the blog if you like! That is, in this blog you’re currently reading, if you wanted to solve my puzzles online, you’d have to click a link in the blog post to go to another page hosted by Crossword Compiler. Not too hard to do, but still an extra click that I’d been striving to eliminate.
And now I have! But worry not, because you can also solve my puzzles either via downloadable/printable PDF format, or (if you have Across Lite) in .puz format.
It will take some time, however, transferring all of the old blog content to this new one–so until then, if you have to itch to do some of my classic crosswords and other puzzles, check out all the puzzles below.

TYPE: Anacrostic puzzle (no grid)

ANYTHING ELSE? I hacked my crossword software (not the code, just how to use its features!) to create an online, solvable anacrostic puzzle. My first!
HOW TO PLAY:
Your challenge is to spell out a QUOTE.
First, fill in the ANSWER dashes, using the crossword-style CLUES as hints.
Then, transfer their letters to the QUOTE dashes with identical numbers.
Work back and forth between the ANSWERS and QUOTE until all dashes are filled. When complete, the first letters of the ANSWERS (in grey) will spell the last name of the QUOTE‘s author. Good luck!
